First Time ...

It's never too late to have a "first" ... manicure and pedicure that is! And for Gary ... it was his first experience of having a pedicure and manicure. He loved the pampering ... who wouldn't ... someone to massage your feet ... hands ... and buff your nails and feet to baby soft perfection ... and I can attest to the fact that his hands were so soft!

Hands Off Ladies ... He's MINE !!!

God is smiling ... and to steal the lines from Rascal Flatts ... god blessed the broken road ... and led me to a terrific god loving and church going man, Gary. We met at Ridgeview Church where we both attend ... and we've been seeing each other since June. He's terrific ... and we are enjoying finding out all about one another. Both Gary and I have gone down very private emotional roads in the past and now we are leaning on one another in this healing process. Gary is amazing and loves life, and one thing we are learning is, it's okay to laugh and be child like.

And this past Friday, Gary surprised me with these gorgeous roses ... "first roses". We spent the evening having a manicure and pedicure together ... his first! And then roamed around the streets of downtown Escondido for their "Cruising Grand" weekly car display. Each time we spend together ... it gets better and better. It's so wonderful to have someone to walk through life with ... another one of Gods' blessings!

My Sisters 2008 Visit

It seems like she and I had talked forever on her coming to San Diego for her 3rd summer vacation with her son, Joshua, and mom, Irene ... but I can't believe that the vacation/visit with my baby sister, Carol, has come and gone. It was way too short! While they were here, they went to the beach, zoo, and a few museums ... and we managed to all get together for dinner at Olive Garden in Escondido. Photographed on the left is ... Joe, Jenn, Leilani, Me ... with Joshua, Carol and Irene. The photo on the right is of Joshua, Irene and Carol at Gary's house ... he graciously had my family over for dinner and a tour of his wonderful "green thumb" property. Behind them is his plumeria trees ...

I miss you baby sis ... see you soon!

Ric Elms and girlfriend, Petra, came for a visit to the States from Australia ... we got to visit with them for the evening at Seau's in Mission Valley. The last time we'd seen Ric was 2000 when he came over for the Olympics and this is our fist visit with Petra. It's been too long between visits ... love to go to Australia sometime and see them.

2008 Pacific Islander Festival

Pacific Islander Festival is coming up ... September 27 and 28th ... Mark your calendars! I'm planning on going Saturday the 27th ... it's a day of island flavor ... dancing, food and culture ... let's go hang!
